The Portonaccio battle sarcophagus. One of a group of about 25 late Roman battle sarcophagi, this one shows Roman victories over different germanic tribes and dates to between 190 and 200. It was used for the burial of a Roman general involved in the campaigns of Marcus Aurelius.
