Dr. Jennie Kidd Trout, the first female doctor in Canada, dies in Los Angeles. She was 80. Trout studied at the University of Toronto, earned her M.D. in 1875, opened a Therapeutic Institute, established a woman-only medical school, and is considered a suffragette hero.
