OtD 1 Apr 1941 a wildcat strike broke out at the Ford River Rouge plant in Detroit after 8 UAW members were fired. Tens of thousands of workers picketed for 10 days, and Black workers defied Ford's attempts to get them to scab, and eventually won union recognition
