Hit from behind.
On April 1st, 2020 I was stuck from behind by an impatient driver. The case is still open and ongoing, thus I won't be divulging much about it here. Know this: If I didn't have THIS video of this accident I might have had to settle for nothing. The reporting CHP officer cited the driver with *nothing*. The CHP officer also noted in his report (reviewed and approved by his supervisor) that *in his opinion* I wasn't "as far to the right as practicable" - and that fact was a possible contributing factor to the crash. Needless to say, I vehemently disagree with the CHP, and I look forward to the opportunity to fix their interpretation of the law. In time. Notably: I was struck 10 seconds after the vehicle came into view. The driver began honking 2 seconds after seeing me, and continued honking until I was struck. The driver *did* remain at the scene until CHP arrived. The crash occurred on Northbound West Side Road. Review of this video provided the local DA's Office what it needed in order to press criminal charges. The arraignment hearing is currently being scheduled.
