Like many nocturnal animals, Deep Sea fish including Sharks have a Tapetum Lucidium. It is a layer of tissue behind the retina that reflects light back into the eye, granting increased night vision. A byproduct of this is when light shines into these animals' eyes, the pupil appears to glow.
