eventbrite.comCultureTrav Flavors & Photo Ops Along the 7 Train Queens Walking TourExplore the most diverse and lively neighborhoods in Queens along the 7 train (also known as the "International Express"). We will sample flavors from three different continents and you'll have the chance to snap pics of some of the most iconic locations in New York City's most diverse borough.   CultureTrav founder, Nicolette Orlemans, is partnering up with Brian Cicioni of I May Roam, who hosts Airbnb experiences and walking tours all over New York City. Along the way, Brian will share the local history and guide us to the most delectable international treats.  We'll meet at Gantry Plaza State Park for fun photo ops of the famous LONG ISLAND and PEPSI COLA signs. Please arrive 15-20 minutes prior to our 2:00 pm starting time. This is to ensure we have enough time to gather all before we embark on our adventure.  From Gantry State Plaza State Park, we'll walk to the Vernon/Jackson 7 train station to start our culinary tour. Be sure to bring your appetite, and a MetroCard with enough value for at least three rides.  First, we'll try Tibetan dumplings, so you can get a feel for the flavors of the Himalayas.  After sampling dumplings, we'll sweeten the deal with desserts from the Rio de la Plata. We'll try a dessert from an Uruguayan bakery in Jackson Heights, and then visit the famous Lemon Ice King of Corona (from King of Queens) and see the remnants of what was once a predominantly Italian neighborhood.  You'll have a chance to snap some pics as we stroll through Flushing Meadows Corona Park (home of the famous Unisphere). Our last stop will take us to Main Street in Flushing where we'll sample some of the things you can't easily find in the more famous Chinatown, like Taiwanese street snacks and food from Western China. Will you dare to try exotic fruit–like Durian or Mangosteen– from the local street vendors? That will be an option as well!  At the end of the tour, you can join us for drinks to round out the day!  We look forward to meeting all of you like-minded travelers and foodies. See you under the Pepsi-Cola sign!  FAQs   What is included? A sample of Tibetan dumplings, a mini dessert from an Uruguayan bakery, one small cup of Italian Ice, a small sample of Taiwanese street food, a small sample of Western Chinese food. What is not included? Subway fare or additional food you may choose to purchase. For example, we will be providing samples at each stop. You may decide you like what you tried and want more. You can purchase as much additional food as you can eat/carry, but it will be at your own expense. Also, if you want to join us for drinks after the tour, drinks will not be included. Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? Anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult.   What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event? You can either take the NYC Ferry to Long Island City or the 7 train to Vernon/Jackson. While there is nearby street parking and private lots, we highly recommend using public transit. The tour ends in Flushing, which offers the convenience of a Long Island Railroad and subway stop. Note: this is a weekend tour. If the 7 train is not running, we will simply use the bus, which runs under the train. What should I/we bring to the event? We will not be providing umbrellas, so if it's calling for rain, we suggesting bringing your own. There will be plenty of amazing photo ops, so bring a camera and comfortable shoes for walking. Although we will be using the subway for longer distances, there will still be walking involved.  How can I contact the organizer with any questions? Through Eventbrite up until the tour starts. Once we meet, you will be given the mobile numbers for both Brian and Nicolette.   Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event? No, electronic tickets are fine as well.
