Cotton Candy Halo Eyeshadow - The Brock BlogThis post may contain affiliate link Now that I am feeling better I will be sharing a lot more makeup related posts here! I am so excited since makeup is one of my favorite things and is honestly something that gives me that little boost I need to face the day. Today I am going to be sharing a sweet cotton candy themed halo eyeshadow look! Perfect for the carnival or local fair! Use code BROCK to save at KillerQueensCosmetics.com For the eye look I used the two shades of pink and shade of blue from Killer Queens Cosmetics’ Neon Lights loose pigment stack, as well as, my Aurora glow kit from Anastasia Beverly Hills. Use code BROCK to save at KillerQueensCosmetics.com To start I got a little bit of the lighter pink pigment on a fluffy brush. With that brush I applied the shadow in the crease of my eye, inner corner, and outer corner… leaving the lid colorless. Next I got the darker shade of pink on a smaller brush and applied that color to the outer and inner corner of my eye to darken those specific areas. After I blended the two shades of pink together I took a flat concealer brush and saturated it with the blue pigment. To apply the blue I tapped it onto my eyelid to get a bright pigment and blended it up towards my crease. To achieve the “halo” effect I took the shade “Orion” from my Aurora Glow Kit on the same brush and tapped it on top of the blue slowly blending the two colors together. Once my eyeshadow was blended to my liking I took my favorite liquid eyeliner and gave myself a fierce wing! To make the look even more fierce I applied some sexy false lashes from Killer Queens Cosmetics. Use code BROCK to save at KillerQueensCosmetics.com To complete the look I used a liquid lipstick in the shade Rose Quartz from Killer Queens Cosmetics. This look has to be one of my favorites to date. Its fun, bright, and extremely easy! What kind of makeup looks do you want to see on the blog? Dark and Vampy? Bright and colorful? Simple and Natural? Let me know in the comments below and be sure to share this look with your friends!

Louisville Since it’s the biggest city in Kentucky, you can imagine there is a lot to do here, but that might be an understatement. Louisville home to the Kentucky Derby, but if you’re visiting outside of this annual event, the Kentucky Derby Museum is a great place to learn all about this historic race that’s been taking place, uninterrupted, since 1875. As the namesake of the official Major League Baseball bat – Louisville Slugger – you can expect a ton of history around this sport as well. Check out the Louisville Slugger Museum for some history about how this iconic bat got its name. If sports aren’t your thing, there is still plenty to do. Those with a need for adventure and a love of scenic views will find happiness at the Big Four Bridge. A former railroad bridge, this attraction allows you to travel from Louisville Waterfront Park to Jeffersonville, Indiana on foot or by bicycle. The Big Four Bridge is an absolute must-see, especially when the bridge is lit by LEDs from twilight until 1 a.m. every night. You’ll find yourself envying those who live in Louisville all year long, but don’t worry, there are always homes on the Louisville real estate market available at a good price should you fall in love with its mix of city life and Southern charm. Harrodsburg If you’re interested in the history of Kentucky, look no further than the historical town of Harrodsburg. Founded in 1774, Harrodsburg is Kentucky’s oldest city and is still home to many attractions that have transcended time. On your trip to this town from the past, the Kentucky Fudge Company is a must-see. Formerly Dedman Drugstore, the building was built around 1865 and formerly served as an apothecary and local hang-out. Here, you can grab a sweet treat and check out the original glass display cases and pressed tin ceilings. Along the main downtown strip, you can find other local attractions, including some of the best Southern food you’ll find in Kentucky. Bardstown Bardstown is a quaint, small town in Nelson County, Kentucky, and it certainly lives up to its nickname – “The Most Beautiful Small Town in America.” It also holds another prestigious title – “Bourbon Capital of the World.” Get a taste of some of the world’s best bourbon at one of Bardstown’s many distilleries, like the Willett Distillery or the Bardstown Bourbon Company. If you’re a real bourbon connoisseur, plan your trip for September and make sure to check out the Kentucky Bourbon Festival, held each year in the heart of Bardstown. If drinking isn’t your thing, there is still so much to do here, with great restaurants, shopping, museums, and even an old-fashioned dinner train for those who have always wanted a classic railcar dining experience.

If you purchase an item from the following links I make a small commission at no extra cost to you! Thank you for your support! PIXI never fails when it comes to their PR Packages. Recently I received the NEW PIXI Pretties collection and was beyond excited to try it. Up until this package I had only tried their skincare. The glow tonic collection is PHENOMENAL, by the way. Because I loved their skincare I had some high hopes for their makeup. This PR package came with a beautiful eye shadow palette, a glowing highlight palette, 2 lip and eye kits, 3 glosses, 2 single fun highlight shades, and a coppery eye shade stick! As of right now I haven’t been able to play with everything I received but I immediately hit up the eye palette and highlighters! The eye palette has some GORGEOUS shades for fall! I recently played around with 3 shades (4 if you count the nude I used to create a clean canvas for a my shadow) and created a fun look that reminded me of Fawkes, the phoenix from Harry Potter. I paired this look with the shade ‘Clutch’ from the PIXI + Rachh Loves highlighting palette for a fierce highlight! For lipstick I just rocked my fav lippie from Killer Queens Cosmetics.
