3 Newbie Tools for Successful Affiliate Marketing | Successful Affiliate Marketing3 Tips for Success with Affiliate Marketing Affiliate marketing is not tough. As with anything, you will reap what you sow. Work hard, and learn new things, and you will begin to see some money trickle in. It's like any other business though. It takes time to build. Hang in there, and you will experience successful affiliate marketing. If you are someone that gets bored easily with new ventures, or you go into affiliate marketing thinking that by next week you'll be making money, then affiliate marketing is not for you. My wife and I are not internet gurus. We don't live in a million-dollar home nor do we drive a fancy sports car. Presently, we do not earn a full-time income from internet marketing. We have in the past, but we sold our holdings a few years ago to other internet marketers and moved into the world of brick and mortar business. That's another story though, and has no place in what this website is about, so we'll pass that for now. Thing is, when we first started out, we had no one to tell us what we needed to do. There was no one to teach us all there was to know about internet marketing. Along the way, I'm reasonably certain that we found each and every way to fail along the way. I'll never forget the first website. It was a simple web page, loaded with banner ads and nothing else. Then I sat back and obsessively checked the affiliate program stats four or five times a day, EVERYDAY. I still look back and laugh about those days. Now, I do work a full-time job, and internet marketing is fickle. We've only recently begun to become involved again in the last few months, so I am only working on the websites in my spare time. So, I work a full-time job, I work as a freelance writer for a few internet clients that I have, and I work about 10 hours a week rebuilding our internet business from scratch. It's easier for us this time around, because we have a good handle on what it takes to succeed. In this article, I am going to go over three simple steps that will help you on the way to successful affiliate marketing. If you're new to the business, and you are struggling to make it work for you, this should be helpful. Even if you've been out of it for a while, there may still be some valuable tidbits to be found. This site is relatively new, and we're working on hooking up all the bells and whistles that we want to have, including a forum among other things, but stick around. We will be working on publishing useful information that is sure to help you along the way, as long as you maintain your focus. Understand though, that there is no magic formula that will lead you to instant riches. Hard work and diligence is what will get you there. Anyone that tells you that they can show you how to make riches almost overnight, and buying their book is the way to do it, are lying to you. Save your money, stick with us, and you will find what works for you. Another thing you need to understand, is that we make NO GUARANTEES OF ANYTHING HERE. We don't know you, we don't know your situation. We don't know your skills or talents and we certainly don't know your work ethic. On top of that, niches that you choose are unpredictable, and no one really knows why something will work or why it won't. In our past efforts, we hit a formula that one website absolutely loved. We tried to duplicate that formula on another website with the same product, and up until the day we sold off our assets, that website never made a nickle. It's also important to tell you that while we can give you the basics, the reality is that what works for us, may or may not work for you. Follow these basic steps however, and you'll soon find what works for you on your own. Let's move on then, to those three basic things. THE TOOLS As with anything else, you'll need the proper tools to work with. Just as a carpenter is unable to build a house without a hammer and nails, you will be unable to build your business without a few basic tools. Many people have said that you can start a successful affiliate marketing business with no money. You can definitely start one with very little money, but there is a cost involved. You'll learn more as you work your way through this article. I'll mention each of the tools first, and then we'll go over them in more detail. So, what tools will you need? The first thing you are going to need of course, is a computer. Most people these days, already have a computer in the home. Even if you don't, you can probably still work at the computer lab at the library, but the internet connection on those computers is worse than dial-up internet of the old days. You're better off to have your own computer with at least DSL internet at home. The computer or laptop does not have to be anything fancy. With that computer, you will need to build a website. The website will need hosting. There are a number of hosts who will offer free hosting, but we'll discuss that later on. Once you have the website set up, you'll need an autoresponder for when people sign up for your mailing list. Again, more details will follow. Finally, the third tool you'll need, is a product or service to promote. PRODUCT – The first thing you need to do is to choose the product(s) or service(s) you want to promote. Many will tell you to build the website first, but you want to choose the product or service first and then build your website around it. While we are discussing this, many will also tell you to write your content about what you know, but this is not always a profitable wat to go. There is enough information on the internet to do your required research however, so if you want to be profitable, choose what people are looking for and then research the content for your website based on that.WEBSITE/WEBHOSTING – You're going to need a website for several reasons, but most importantly it's for branding. You have to brand yourself on the internet, and while it's beyond the scope of this article, just know that it's for building online trust for your business as you go along. When you build a website, the content you provide to people who are doing their own research on the product or service that you are promoting, they will begin to trust you as an authority when you prove to them that you know what you are talking about. Along with this website, you're going to need webhosting. There are hosts out there that will give you webspace free, but there are many problems associated with free hosting accounts. Additionally, there are many problems associated with those that offer to host your website for prices like $12.00 per year. To be blunt, those hosting services like that oversell their services, and they will also nickel and dime you to death for certain things you are going to need like database access and all that. I recommend that you use the hosting that we promote – AllStar Webhosting. You'll get everything you need in one package, it's relatively cheap, and they are one of the few where they will tell you uptime is 99.5% and actually mean it. Click on the AllStar Webhosting name and you will be taken right there. For six bucks a month, you can have your website hosted and know that it will be there. You can also buy a domain there as well, or you can buy a domain name somewhere else and still host it with AllStar Webhosting . When it comes to building a website, by far and large, the easiest thing to do is to use Wordpress. As it happens, AllStar Webhosting has a tool in place where you can install Wordpress, as well as hundreds of other software titles at no additional charge. We use wordpress for all of our websites because it's easy to use, and when you write new content, all you have to do is hit the publish button and you're done. Plus, with all the tools and templates available, it's just so easy to use and changed the look of your website with just the click of the button.AUTORESPONDERS – These come in handy when you are building an email list, which you will ultimately use to market to your customers. You can use one of the many Wordpress plugins for this, or you can use the autoresponders built into the control panel at AllStar Webhosting. The choice is all yours. As we populate the website with more content, you'll learn more about Wordpress, autoresponders, list building and more, but we wanted to quickly point out to you these three simple ways of getting your business running, and help you on your way to successful affiliate marketing quickly.
