Mix respects the privacy of its users. This Privacy Policy ("Privacy Policy") informs you about our online and offline information practices, the kinds of information we may collect, how we intend to use and share that information, and how you can opt-out of certain uses, or correct or change such information.

Notice at Collection. At or before the time of collection, California residents may have a right to receive notice of our practices, including the categories of personal information to be collected, the purposes for which such information is collected or used, whether such information is sold or shared and how to opt-out of such uses, and how long such information is retained, all of which is set forth in the section below titled “Supplemental Notice for California Residents”. About the Mix Services

We provide users ("you", "your") with services, delivered via the Mix website (currently located at https://www.mix.com), the Mix mobile applications, browser extensions, and/or any other platform or media through which we may make such services available from time to time, that allow you to explore the Internet, find new websites that may be of interest to you, receive recommendations of websites from Mix, and join a community of individuals with similar tastes and interests (collectively, the “Site” or the "Services").


About This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Mix collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes personal information in connection with the Services, and explains the privacy choices and rights available to you. Mix processes personal information in accordance with applicable law and, where required, on the basis of an appropriate legal ground (such as performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations or consent). Mix is based in the United States and may process and store personal information in the United States and other countries, subject to applicable legal safeguards for cross-border transfers. If you are located in the EEA or UK, please also review the section titled “Additional Information for EU and UK Users” for additional disclosures about legal bases, international transfers, and your rights.


Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Privacy Policy on the Services and update the “Last Updated” date above. If we make material changes, we will provide additional notice as required by applicable law (for example, by email or in-product notice). Where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before applying a material change to processing that requires consent. Your continued use of the Services after the effective date of an updated Privacy Policy is subject to the updated Privacy Policy, to the extent permitted by law.


Your Account

You may choose to create a Mix account or you may use the Services without creating an account. Either way, we consider you a "User" of the Services. You may also have created an account through one of Mix's connected social networking communities, for example, Apple, Facebook, Google or X ("Partner Communities"). Once you have created an account you may choose to add a photo or other information to your profile (the "Mix Profile"). Some of the information associated with your account such as your username or comments you choose to make available on the Services may be displayed publicly.


Why Does Mix Collect Information?

We want to give our Users the best possible experience, personalized for each User. We collect information to improve our Services, features and content, to administer your use of our Services, and to deliver content that we determine may be of interest to you.


Some Terms We Use in This Privacy Policy

"Agent" or "Processor" means anyone that Processes Personal Information pursuant to the instructions of, and solely for, Mix or to which Mix discloses Personal Information for use on its behalf.

"Non-Identifying Information" means information that does not permit the identification of an individual person.

"Log Data" is derived automatically as you engage with the Services. Some of this data is collected by us and shared with third parties who may also use this data, and it may also be collected by third parties directly. Please see the "Does Mix Use Cookies or Other Tracking Methods?" section below for more details.

"Personal Information" or "Personal Data" is any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked (directly or indirectly) to a particular person or household ("Individual").

"Process" or "Processing" means any operation which is performed upon Personal Information, whether or not by automatic means, such as collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction.

"Third Party" is any company, natural or legal person, public authority, agency, or body other than the Individual, Mix or Mix's Agents.


What Information Does Mix Collect?

Mix will collect only that Personal Information which is relevant for the purposes of Processing that information as described in this Privacy Policy.

Personal Information.

Users that use the Services without creating an account. If you interact with our Services without creating an account, you will not see a personalized stream, instead we will display items to you which we think might be of interest, for example, because they are new, or trending on the Services. We may also collect some of your information through cookies (see below). Some parts of the Services, e.g. the personalized curated feed will not be available to you if you do not create an account and log in.

Users that create an account. When you create a Mix account or connect through our Partner Communities, we may collect your email address and, depending on your account settings or features you use, profile information such as year of birth, location, and other optional profile details such as the areas you are most interested in. We will also collect Log Data and other automatically collected data from cookies and other similar technologies (see below) and use this to deliver the Services to you, including the personalized curated feed you have requested from us. If you personalize your Mix account, we will also collect any information you provide, such as your full name, your photo or avatar and any optional information you decide to supply about yourself and your interests. We will first seek your specific permission before we gain any access to your contacts should you wish to enable sharing through the Services.

Sweepstakes or Contests. We may collect personal information you provide for any sweepstakes or contests that we offer. In some jurisdictions, we are required to publicly share information of sweepstakes and contest winners.

Conferences, Trade Shows, and Other Events. We may collect personal information from individuals when we attend conferences, trade shows, and other events.

Business Development and Strategic Partnerships. We may collect personal information from individuals and third parties to assess and pursue potential business opportunities.

Job Applications. We may post job openings and opportunities on our Services. If you reply to one of these postings by submitting your application, CV and/or cover letter to us, we will collect and use your information to assess your qualifications.

Attribution Campaign Data. We may receive advertising campaign data, such as attribution or conversion information, when you interact with one of our advertisements on a third-party website or service.

Non-Identifying Information. We also collect some Non-Identifying Information about you and your interests as you navigate through and interact with our Services such as the URL of page(s) you view and the titles and content of the pages you save to Mix.

Log Data and Cookies. When you interact with the Services, we and third parties may automatically record information that your browser or device sends. This Log Data may include information such as your computer's IP address, browser type, and operating system, your mobile device identifier, the time of day of your access, your general physical location, your interaction with the Services and other analytics that help us deliver and monitor the effectiveness of our Services and deliver ads.

Information You Provide. When you enter any other information into any postings or comments, we may collect this information.

Image and Video content. When you view an image or a video plays on the Services, we may receive information about the content you interact with and the third party which hosts the image or video and makes it available, may collect information related to you viewing the video. This data will be processed in accordance with their privacy policy. Please see the relevant third party's privacy policy for more information such as:

Contacting us. When you leave us feedback or write to us directly, we will collect any information that is contained in your feedback or comment form, which will include your e-mail address and other information that you may submit to us for reference or reply.


Does Mix Use Cookies or Other Tracking Methods?

We and our partners use cookies and similar technologies for strictly necessary functions to make the Site work and to provide the personalized and curated feed you request from us when you set up an account and, depending on your choices and applicable law, for analytics, personalization, and advertising. Depending on where you are accessing the services from you may see a banner requesting consent for certain tracking when you first land on the Site. Wherever you are accessing the services from you can manage your choices at any time by clicking on “Cookie Settings” at the top of this page, in the hamburger menu.

  • Cookies. Cookies are small text files placed in visitors' computer browsers to store their preferences. Most browsers allow you to block and delete cookies and depending on where you are accessing the Services from, you may be able to choose which cookies are set. However, if you disable or remove some cookies, some areas of the Site may not work properly and we may not be able to provide the Services.
  • Pixel Tags/Web Beacons. A pixel tag (also known as a web beacon) is a piece of code embedded on the Site that collects information about users' engagement on that web page. The use of a pixel allows us to record, for example, that a user has visited a particular web page or clicked on a particular advertisement.
  • Social Media. Our Site includes social media features which allow you to create an account or access your account or to see certain content using your own social media accounts. These features may collect your IP address, which page you are visiting on our Site, and may set a cookie to enable the feature to function properly, such as to access your account or in order to play a video. These social media features are either hosted by a Third Party or hosted directly on our Site. Your information will be collected by these third parties when you engage with certain content features and content. We also work with social media companies to help deliver our ads to you online. Your interactions with these features are governed by the privacy policy of the company providing it such as those listed above.

The online advertising industry also provides websites from which you may opt out of receiving targeted ads from data partners and other advertising partners that participate in self-regulatory programs. You can access these and learn more about targeted advertising and consumer choice and privacy by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance, the European Digital Advertising Alliance, and the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada. Please note to take advantage of these opt-outs, you must opt out separately on each browser and on each device.

Our uses of such Technologies fall into the following general categories:

  • Strictly Necessary. We may use Technologies that are necessary to the operation of our Site, Services, applications, and tools. This includes technologies that allow you access to our Site, Services, applications, and tools; that are required to, prevent or detect fraudulent activity and technical faults, or that allow you to make use of our functions such as authenticating a User to deliver the personalized and curated feed which you request from us when you create a Mix account or similar functions.
  • Functionality. We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies that offer enhanced functionality and preference selection when accessing or using our Site, Services, applications, or tools. This may include keeping track of your specified preferences such as language or region.
  • Analytics & Performance. We may use cookies, web beacons, or other similar technologies to assess the performance of our Site, Services, applications, and tools, including as part of our analytic practices to help us understand how our visitors use our Sites, determine if you have interacted with our messaging, determine whether you have viewed an item or link, or to improve our Site content or identifying irregular Site activity and improve security, Services, applications, or tools.
  • Advertising or Targeting. We may use first-party or third-party cookies, pixels, web beacons and other similar technologies to deliver our content to you, including advertisements relevant to your interests or use of Mix, sometimes referred to as behavioral advertising, on Third Party sites. This includes using technologies to understand the usefulness to you of the advertisements and content that has been delivered to you, such as whether you have clicked on an advertisement.
  • Social Media Widgets. If you use embedded social features, information may be collected and transmitted to the provider of that feature. In some cases, we and the provider may be joint controllers for the collection/transmission stage. We provide these features to enable you to use your social media account to log on to the Services and create an account with Mix.

Your Options: Separate to the options presented in our consent banner or available to you via our “Cookie Settings”, as set out above, you can reset your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being set. Instructions to remove persistent cookies can be found through outside resources. Mobile devices may contain settings that allow you to disable tracking, analytics and/or location data. Be aware, however, that if you choose to disable cookies or opt out of tracking or disengage similar features on your mobile device, some areas of the Services may not be optimized for your use, you may not be able to access any or all of the functionality of the Services, and your experience using the Services will be limited.


How Can You Edit or Remove Your Personal or Other Information?

You may choose to edit the Personal Information that is in your Mix account so that different or less information is available to be viewed publicly or by other Users. To remove other Personal Information that may not be visible in your account, you may contact us at support@mix.com with a request that we delete your Personal Information from our database or remove other information that you no longer wish to include as part of the Services. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to honor your request. In addition, if you are a California resident, please see the section titled "Supplemental Notice for California Residents" below for more information about your rights with respect to your Personal Information. If you are a Nevada resident, please see the section titled "Supplemental Notice for Nevada Residents" below for more information about how you can direct us not to sell your Personal Information. If you are accessing the services in the EU or UK, please see the section titled "Additional Information for EU and UK Users" below.

We may retain an archived copy of your records as required or permitted by applicable law or for legitimate business purposes. When you receive messages from us, you may indicate a preference to stop receiving further communications from us and you will have the opportunity to "unsubscribe" from our marketing communications. We may, however, still send you administrative messages regarding the Services.


How Does Mix Use Information?

To Provide products, Services, or Information Requested. Mix may use information about you to fulfill requests for products, Services, or information, including information about potential or future Services, including to:

  • Suggest the content we think may be of interest to you on the Services including providing our curated personalized feed powered by AI which we provide you when you sign up for an account and request this to be provided to you;
  • Suggest accounts to you which we think might be of interest to you and suggest your account to other Users;
  • Review postings and comments;
  • Verify Individual identity;
  • Generally manage Individual information and accounts;
  • Respond to questions, comments, and other requests;
  • Provide access to certain areas, functionalities, and features of Mix's Services;
  • Display some of the content on our Services publicly;
  • Deliver images and play video content to you;
  • Contact you to answer requests for customer support or technical support.

Administrative, Analytical and Operational Purposes. Mix may use Personal Information about you for its administrative, analytical and operational purposes, including to:

  • Measure interest in Mix's Services;
  • develop the Services and new products and Services;
  • Ensure internal quality control;
  • Review and analyze postings and comments
  • Verify Individual identity;
  • Communicate about Individual accounts and activities on Mix's Services and systems, and, in Mix's discretion, changes to any of our policies;
  • Send emails to the email address you provide to us to verify your account and for informational and operational purposes, such as account management, customer service, or system maintenance;
  • Process applications and transactions;
  • Prevent potentially prohibited or illegal activities;
  • Review, measure and improve our security
  • Enforce our Terms.

Marketing and Advertising. We may use Personal Information to provide you with our ads on third party sites including through interest based and behavioral advertising which may use data collected from third party cookies and other similar technologies that are set on the Services. Mix may also use Personal Information to provide you with materials about offers, products, and Services that may be of interest, including new content or Services. Mix may provide you with these materials by text message or email, as permitted by applicable law. Such uses include:

  • To tailor content, advertisements, and offers;
  • To notify you about offers, products, and services that may be of interest to you;
  • To provide Services to you and our sponsors;
  • For other purposes disclosed at the time that Individuals provide Personal Information; or
  • Otherwise with your consent.
  • You may contact us at any time to opt-out of the use of your Personal Information for marketing purposes, as further described in "How do I Opt Out?" section below.

Research and Development. Mix may use Personal Information that we may use alone or in the aggregate with information obtained from other sources, in order to help us to optimally deliver our existing products and Services or develop new products and Services, including training AI tools. We may engage service providers to conduct surveys on our behalf, in which case, if you elect to participate in a survey, we may provide our service providers with your Personal Information for purposes of conducting the survey. All survey responses are voluntary, and the information collected will be used for research and reporting purposes to help us better serve Individuals by learning more about their needs and the quality of the products and services we provide. The survey responses may be utilized to determine the effectiveness of our Services, various types of communications, advertising campaigns, and/or promotional activities. If an Individual participates in a survey, the information given will be used along with that of other study participants. We may share anonymous Individual and aggregate data for research and analysis purposes.

Services via Mobile Devices and Browser Extensions. Mix provides Services that are specifically designed to be compatible and used on mobile devices, such as the Mix App. Mix will collect certain information that your mobile device sends when you use such Services, like a device identifier, user settings, approximate location information, mobile carrier, and the operating system of your device. Mobile versions of Mix's Services may require that users log in with an account. In such cases, information about use of mobile versions of the Services may be associated with accounts. In addition, Mix may enable Individuals to download an application, browser extension, or other tool that can be used on mobile or other computing devices. Some of these tools may store information on mobile or other devices. These tools may transmit Personal Information to Mix to enable Individuals to access Accounts and to enable Mix to track use of these tools. Some of these tools may enable users to email reports and other information from the tool. Mix may use Personal Information or non-identifiable information transmitted to Mix to enhance these tools, to develop new tools, for quality improvement and as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy or in other notices Mix provides.

Other Uses. Mix may use Personal Information for which we have a legitimate interest, such as marketing activities, individual or market research, anti-fraud protection, or any other purpose disclosed to you at the time you provide Personal Information or with your consent.

Mix may use the content of any communications submitted by you via the Services, including any profile photo, submissions and collections of articles, for developing, manufacturing, and/or marketing goods or Services. Some examples of these uses include posting to social media such as Twitter and Facebook, subject to the applicable terms governing use of those social media services.


When Does Mix Share Information with Others, and with Whom?

Sharing Via Your Mix Account. The information provided in your Mix account that you select to be publicly displayed will be public information and any User will be able to view it. You may edit or hide information in your profile at any time so that it is no longer accessible to the public, but even if you delete your data, it may continue to exist if it has been shared outside of the Services. Also, when you enter any information (including Personal Information), into postings or comments via the Services, this information, may be available to some, a subgroup of, or even all Users of the Services, depending on how and where this information was posted by you and with whom you have elected to share the posting or comment.

Aggregate Information & Non-Identifying Information. We may share aggregated information that does not include Personal Information and we may otherwise disclose Non-Identifying Information with Third Parties for industry analysis, demographic profiling, advertising, marketing and other purposes relating to our Services. Any aggregated information shared in these contexts will not contain your Personal Information.

Service Providers. We may employ other companies and individuals to deliver and facilitate our Services, to provide the Services on our behalf, to perform maintenance and research services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Services are used and to help us promote market and advertise the Services (such as advertising networks, internet service providers, infrastructure providers, database management, data, operating systems and platforms, social networks web or mobile analytics, cookie providers, and improvement of the Services' features).

Business Transfers & Affiliates. Mix may share Personal Information with our business partners, and affiliates for our and our affiliates' internal business purposes or to provide you with a product or service that you have requested. Mix may also provide Personal Information to business partners with whom we may jointly offer products or services, or whose products or services we believe may be of interest to you. In such cases, our business partner's name will appear, along with Mix. Mix requires our affiliates and business partners to agree in writing to maintain the confidentiality and security of Personal Information they maintain on our behalf and not to use it for any purpose other than the purpose for which Mix provided them.

If Mix or the assets of Mix are acquired by another company, or if Mix is involved in financing due diligence processes or transition of service to another service provider, then we may transfer your information, including Personal Information, in connection with that acquisition or sale or transaction to such actual or potential buyer (and its service providers and advisers) and Mix will direct the recipient of this information to assume the rights and obligations described in this Privacy Policy.

Interest-Based Advertising and Marketing. Through our Services, we may allow advertising partners including social networks and image and video content providers to set tracking tools (e.g., cookies) to collect information regarding the content displayed to you (e.g. playing a video) and your activities and engagement with the Services (e.g., your IP address, page(s) visited, time of day). These advertising partners may use this information (and similar information collected from other websites) for purposes of delivering targeted advertisements to you when you visit non-Mix related websites within their networks. This practice is commonly referred to as "interest-based advertising" or "online behavioral advertising. We may allow access to other data collected by the Site to facilitate transmittal of information and advertising on third party sites that may be useful, relevant, valuable or otherwise of interest to you. We may also share such de-identified information as well as personal information and/or information linked or reasonably linkable to a user or device we have collected with advertising partners.

Compliance with Laws & Law Enforcement. We may access, preserve, and disclose your Personal Information, other account information, and content if we believe doing so is required or appropriate to: (i) comply with law enforcement or national security requests and legal process, such as a court order or subpoena; (ii) respond to your requests; (iii) protect your, our or others' rights, property, or safety; (iv) to enforce Mix policies or contracts; (v) when we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to prevent physical harm or financial loss or in connection with an investigation or prosecution of suspected or actual illegal activity; or (vi) if we, in good faith, believe that disclosure is otherwise necessary or advisable.


How Do I Opt Out?

General. You may have the right to opt out of certain uses and disclosures of your Personal Information. Where you have consented to Mix's Processing of your Personal Information, you may withdraw that consent at any time and opt-out to further Processing by contacting us at support@mix.com. Even if you opt-out, we may still collect and use non-Personal Information regarding your activities on our Sites and/or information from the advertisements on websites for non-interest based advertising purposes, such as to determine the effectiveness of the advertisements.

Email. If you receive an unwanted email from us, you can use the unsubscribe link found at the bottom of the email to opt-out of receiving future emails. We will process your request within a reasonable time after receipt. Note that you will continue to receive transaction-related emails regarding products or services you have requested. We may also send you certain non-promotional communications regarding Mix and our Services and you will not be able to opt out of those communications (e.g., communications regarding updates to our Terms or this Privacy Policy).

Mobile Devices. Mix may occasionally send you push notifications through our mobile applications and other notices that may be of interest to you. You may at any time opt-out from receiving these types of communications by changing the settings on your mobile device. Mix may also collect location-based information if you use our mobile applications. You may opt-out of this collection by changing the settings on your mobile device.

Do Not Track and Browser Signals. Some browsers offer “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) settings. There is not a uniform industry standard for DNT signals, and our Services do not respond to DNT signals. However, where required by applicable law, we honor legally recognized opt-out preference signals (such as Global Privacy Control (“GPC”)) for requests to opt out of certain processing, including certain sales, sharing or targeted advertising activities. GPC processing may be limited to the browser or device transmitting the signal and may be tied to browser identifiers unless you are logged into your account.

Cookies and Interest-Based Advertising. As noted above, you may stop or restrict the placement of cookies on your computer or remove them from your browser by adjusting your web browser preferences, or, by clicking “Cookie Settings" at the top of this page, selecting this in the hamburger menu. Please note that browser-based cookie opt-outs may not be effective on mobile applications, but mobile app users can manage tracking choices via their device settings or through our in-app privacy controls.

The online advertising industry also provides websites from which you may opt-out of receiving targeted ads from our data partners and our other advertising partners that participate in self-regulatory programs. You can access these, and also learn more about targeted advertising and consumer choice and privacy, at https://www.networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp or www.youronlinechoices.eu and www.aboutads.info/choices/.

To be clear, whether you make your tracking choices through our consent banner, by making a selection in your Cookie Settings or an online industry opt-out, these choices must be performed on each device and browser. For example, your choice on your computer browser, will not be effective on your mobile device. You must separately update our settings on each device.

Advertisements on websites that contain the AdChoices link may have been directed to you based on information collected by advertising partners over time and across websites. These advertisements provide a mechanism to opt-out of the advertising partners' use of this information for interest-based advertising purposes.

Your Privacy Rights. In accordance with applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Confirm Whether We Are Processing Your Personal Information (the right to know);
  • Request Correction of your Personal Information where it is inaccurate or incomplete. In some cases, we may provide self-service tools that enable you to update your Personal Information;
  • Request Deletion of your Personal Information;
  • Request to Opt-Out of Certain Processing Activities including, as applicable, if we process your Personal Information for "targeted advertising" (as "targeted advertising" is defined by applicable privacy laws), if we "sell" your Personal Information (as "sell" is defined by applicable privacy laws), or if we engage in "profiling" in furtherance of certain "decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects" concerning you (as such terms are defined by applicable privacy laws). For clarity, Mix uses cookies and similar technologies on our Services, and may use information collected through those technologies (including through our service providers, social networks and advertising partners) to measure campaigns and to support advertising to users on third-party services. Whether certain disclosures constitute ‘sale,’ ‘sharing,’ or ‘targeted advertising’ under applicable law depends on the facts and applicable legal definitions.

Submitting Requests. To exercise applicable privacy rights, you may submit a request by:

  • Email: support@mix.com (subject line: “Privacy Rights Request”)
  • In-account settings (where available)

Verification. We will take reasonable steps to verify your identity before processing certain requests. The information we request for verification will depend on the nature of your request, your relationship with us, and the sensitivity of the information requested.

Authorized Agents. If permitted by law, you may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. We may require proof of authorization and may require you to verify your identity directly with us.

Response Timing. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. If we need more time, we will notify you as required by law.

Appeals. If we deny your request and you have a legal right to appeal, you may submit an appeal by emailing support@mix.com with the subject line “Privacy Rights Appeal” within 60 days of our decision.

If applicable laws grant you an appeal right and you would like to appeal our decision with respect to your request, you may do so by informing us of this and providing us with information supporting your appeal.

Where and How Long Will Information Be Collected and Stored?

Mix is located in the United States. Accordingly, Personal Information we collect may be transferred to and stored in our servers or those of Third Parties that act on our behalf (such as hosting providers) in the United States or other countries outside of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom. By using the Services you acknowledge such collection, transfer and storage outside of the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom or other territories where the information may have been collected.

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide and maintain the Services, manage accounts, communicate with users, secure and improve the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information, the nature of our relationship with you, and applicable legal, operational, and compliance requirements. What Is the Policy Towards Children?

Our services are not directed to children under 13. If we learn we collected personal information from a child under 13, we will delete it.


What Policies Apply to Third Party Websites, Services and Applications?

The Services may contain links or integrations to Third Party applications, websites or services, and also may be accessed via Third Party applications, websites or services. Our display within the Services of links or referrals to other websites, services and applications does not signify our endorsement of such other websites, services or applications or their content. We have no control over, do not review, and cannot be responsible for these outside websites, services or their content. This Privacy Policy does not govern your visits to these other websites or services, and your access is entirely at your own risk. Additional Privacy Rights for California Residents

Opting Out of "Sales" of Personal Information and/or "Sharing" for Cross-Context Behavioral Advertising under the CCPA. California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" of personal information and the "sharing" of personal information for "cross-context behavioral advertising." For purposes of the CCPA, Mix engages in "selling" or "sharing" for "cross-context behavioral advertising." In addition, we may share Personal Information with our analytics providers to improve the performance of our Services and we may receive non-identifying attribution tracking information from our third-party advertising partners for the purpose of understanding the effectiveness of our ad campaigns on third-party websites or services. To the extent that such sharing or receipt of information is considered a "sale" or "sharing" under California law, you may limit such sharing by contacting us at support@mix.com, via GPC (where required by law) or by clicking our "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link.

Non-Discrimination. California residents have the right not to receive discriminatory treatment by us for the exercise of their rights conferred by the CCPA.

If you are a California resident and would like to exercise any of your rights under the CCPA, please contact us at support@mix.com. We will process such requests in accordance with applicable laws.

California Shine the Light. The California "Shine the Light" law permits users who are California residents to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, a list of the third parties to whom we have disclosed their personal information (if any) for their direct marketing purposes in the prior calendar year, as well as the type of personal information disclosed to those parties.


Supplemental Notice for Nevada Residents

If you are a resident of Nevada, you have the right to opt-out of the sale of certain Personal Information to third parties who intend to license or sell that Personal Information. You can exercise this right by contacting us at support@mix.com with the subject line "Nevada Do Not Sell Request" and providing us with your name and the email address associated with your account. Please note that we do not currently sell your Personal Information as sales are defined in Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A.

Lawful basis.

We process your Personal Data where we have a lawful basis for doing so. Examples of lawful bases for processing include consent, contractual necessity and our “legitimate interests” or the legitimate interests of others.

We use your Personal Data where it is necessary to provide you with our Services under our contract with you. For example, this includes creating and managing your account and providing you with a personalised feed of content powered by AI. If you choose not to provide certain personal data, we may be unable to provide some or all of our Services to you, for example, you need to set up a username, display name and provide an email address in order to create an account.

When we rely on legitimate interests, we mean in pursuing our own interests we have considered your rights and interests at the same time, and concluded that these are not overridden by your rights.

If we rely on your consent to process your Personal Data, we will ask for this before processing.

The information we may use for these purposes include Personal Data we collect automatically including Log Data, your interactions and engagements with the Services and your account information such as your name and email address and other information you make available through the Services such as comments.

Processing your Personal Data with your consent, for example, for us to deliver certain Cookies, or in regard to certain device access to information permissions or to allow us access to your information from a Partner Community or Third Party.

We may also need to process your Personal Data to comply with our legal obligations (including with regard to ensuring the safety of our Users and to comply with a valid legal request) or to protect vital interests of you or another individual, or, to perform a task in the public interest.

International Transfers. Where we facilitate the onward transfer of personal data from the EEA, Switzerland, or the UK to countries that have not been recognized as providing an adequate level of protection, we use appropriate safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum (or UK International Data Transfer Agreement, as applicable), and/or reliance on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (and UK Extension / Swiss-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, if applicable), where the recipient is certified.

When you create a User account, we automatically process information about how you interact with our platform — for example, the pages you visit and the content you engage with through following other Users or saving content — to build a picture of your interests and preferences, and to select and display content that we think will be most relevant and useful to you in our personalised and curated feed. This personalisation may also use AI to deliver the content to you. This is a core part of the Services we provide to you when you have registered for an account and request these from us. We may use this information to improve and develop our services, including training AI tools, and also to process information automatically to support our marketing campaigns.

Your rights. If you are a user based in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you may be entitled to exercise some or all of the following rights:

  • Require (i) information regarding whether your personal data is retained and (ii) access to your personal data retained.
  • Request rectification, erasure or restriction of your personal data that we process
  • Refuse to provide and, where processing of your personal data is based on consent, withdraw your consent to such processing of your personal data at any time, without impact to data processing activities that have taken place before such withdrawal.
  • Object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing of your personal data, in certain circumstances or object to the use of your personal data for direct marketing at any time.
  • Under certain circumstances and where technically feasible you may have the right to have the personal data transmitted directly from us to another controller.
