Cute, Comfy, and Affordable Maternity Wear - Blushes & ButterfliesPregnancy doesn’t suit me. It never has. My natural body structure is already weird and oddly-shaped enough without dealing with the massive all-over swelling and the inevitable penguin waddle that makes walking anywhere all the more awkward lol As a result, not only is it usually extremely difficult for me to find regular clothes to fit into, being pregnant makes that near-impossible. **The products in this post have been gifted to me by Destination Maternity for purposes of sharing them on my blog. All opinions remain my own. For more information, please see the DISCLOSURE page** Since I practically live in yoga pants, I never did find the need to wear maternity clothes. This time around, however, I really wanted to be able to embrace fashion and make it work for me in all the ways I could. Yoga pants are life, but I realized I wanted to start feeling comfortable AND pretty, though I could never find outfits that fit me well. Eventually, I just gave up, frustrated, and accepted the fact that I’ll always look like a slump (a very comfortable slump, mind you) with the same style yoga pants and baggy t-shirts all the time. It was only a sudden impulse to walk into Destination Maternity as I passed by it while at the mall one day. I was simply curious, expecting disappointment once again, but I never imagined walking out of there feeling more confident and happy than I did when I walked in. I had just made my first maternity clothes purchase – a pair of jeans! Now jeans and I have never gotten along. Besides the fact that I’ve never had luck finding a pair that fits my body shape, since I’m only five feet, the jeans are always LONG on me, even the ones that say “short” or “petite” on them! lol The Destination Maternity jeans I purchased that day were not only the perfect shape to accommodate my body proportions, but they were the perfect length on me; no hemming required! That was the first time in my life I’ve ever tried a piece of fabric on that didn’t need hemming, and I just didn’t know how to react. Well, actually, I did. I bought them so fast without even thinking that the purchase I just made was a splurge for me at the time – but it was a splurge well worth it and one I’d make over and over again 🙂 I just couldn’t believe that I got to experience walking out of a store with a piece of clothing I bought that elicited such excitement because it was the first time I wore something that complemented and looked good on ME…while pregnant, no less! There’s always a first for everything, and I wish shopping everywhere else was just as much of a painless and pleasant experience as it was shopping there. This is why I’m so excited to say that I’ve partnered with Destination Maternity, and recently had an opportunity to receive a complimentary outfit to wear and share! I am beyond grateful to be sent these pieces that help me take on pregnancy with style! And hopefully, give me enough confidence to continue to venture out of my comfort zone and experiment with style long after I’ve given birth. Tie Waist Maternity Top in Burgundy Floral – This beautiful sheer polyester top features 3/4 sleeve, boat neck, tie front, and a gathered cuff. Secret Fit Secret Stretch Straight Leg Maternity Jeans in Dark Wash – Made of cotton, polyester, and spandex, this pair is super stretchy with a 32 inch inseam and plain weave denim. Here I am in a couple of (awkward) poses wearing them both. I apologize in advance. I’m clearly not a model, and this was the first time taking outfit pictures, but I hope you get somewhat of an idea of what they looked like on. I am most excited about the jeans. They were so comfortable on me and retained their stretch very well throughout the day. The fabric accommodates my growing bump, and it wasn’t too itchy or tight. The top is super flowy and lightweight, and I like how the tie waist accentuated my belly. Too cute! A little bonus item I also received in my package was “The Pop” by Doddle & Co., which is basically a silicone pacifier that “pops” inside a protective bubble when it bounces to the floor to help protect the nipple from germs and keep it cleaner longer, which means minimal washing is needed. This was the first time I’d seen or heard of a pacifier like this, so I definitely can’t wait to try it out with Sophia! On top of all of that, Destination Maternity gave me a code to share with you that is valid for 30% off one regularly priced item from now until 1/23/19! Just use HUDA30 at checkout! 🙂 And here’s my Snapchat-filtered face! This is why I only take selfies…it just makes me feel better about myself lol It took a lot of courage to share my outfit/body, so I hope you enjoyed this post 🙂 Have a great Monday! xo Love it?
