How to take care of your mental health this ChristmasThe holidays can be stressful and for some of us it takes a serious toll on our mental health. So for the fifth day of blogmas, I am sharing my top tips on how you can take care of your mental health during the holidays.  1. Take a break As said the holidays can be stressful. But when you think about it the holidays are the perfect opportunity to take a break from your day-to-day life and treat yourself.  Also, check out How to treat yourself during the holidays 2. Talk about it Talking about your problems whether it might be with friends, family or a professional is super helpful, probably one of the most helpful tips I can give you.  3. Plan ahead In my experience routine is the best way to keep my mental health in check. However, during the holidays my usual routine gets thrown out the window. When you plan ahead the likelihood of your lack of routine throwing you off is significantly less. Another essential to plan is a budget. You spend much more money during the holidays that you do otherwise during the year. Making lists and maintaining a budget keeps you from getting depressed and anxious. 4. Spend time with friends and family Spending time with loved ones is a proven way to reduce stress.  Check out 9 ways to be less stressed instantly 5. Mental health basics When your routine gets out of order, it gets hard to keep up with your regular mental health maintenance. Remind yourself to continue to exercise, healthy eating, sleep etc. Stick to the basics, you will be glad you did. Do you have any other tips to stay sane during the holidays?
