catherinelorene.comThe Beginning of My Journey With HealthHey Y'all! I know it's been a while since I've gotten a blog post up! I don't know if you noticed but I have completely redone the look of the blog and I'm really liking it! I've been working on it like crazy so I hope you guys like it too :) Today, I'm talking about my journey with health. I'm nervous and excited and scared all at the same time! Basically, I'm not happy with where I am right now. And I'm not just talking about how I look or my fitness but also how I feel. I just have been feeling very... blah. I haven't been eating healthy in the least and I really should be since I'm breastfeeding and all of my food is going to Lincoln. So, I have to make a change before he grows up addicted to tacos and cookie dough. I'll give you a little background on my health & lifestyle before pregnancy. I was always slightly overweight. The only thing that really kept me in shape was playing volleyball 24/7 all throughout school. I was in my best shape I've ever been in my senior year of high school. Fast forward a few years later and I had gained a good amount of weight. I had been to so many doctors about it trying to find out the reason, even one misdiagnosed me with a brain tumor! I ended up having a mixture of a thyroid problem and some weight gain from seizure medications and birth control. So I got off of my birth control (hi, Lincoln) and got onto some thyroid medication to help that issue and then started a very strict diet. I had lost over 25 pounds in two months when I found out I was pregnant with Lincoln and had to stop the diet. So, here we are, almost a year later. I am currently about 5 pounds above my pre-pregnancy weight, but like I said, I was dieting when I got pregnant so I would like to keep losing. I also realize that I'm breastfeeding and a significant weight loss will mess with my milk supply so I'm not going to do anything crazy, but I am going to aim for a pound or two a week! All of that to say, I am posting this for accountability. I will be doing Kayla Itsines Bikini Body Guide (linking it here in case anyone wants to do it with me... she has an app version too) three times a week which I have tried so many times before and have never been able to finish all 12 weeks... but I want to do it this time! I'll be posting a story to Instagram every time I workout to make sure I do it! And guys... message me if I don't post because I need that! I totally understand that it's going to take some time (still can't believe that huge dude was in my belly two months ago and it's already back at it's pretty normal size) but I'm excited to even just start eating healthier and feeling better! I always have so much more energy when I eat right and actually take care of myself. So these are my before photos. I'm going to post my goals for the next three months down below and I'm excited to see where I'm at once I'm done with the workout program and hopefully update you all with another post then :) workout 3 times a week with Kayla's BBG (y'all I'm starting Monday, someone please do it with me?) drink about a gallon of water everyday eat healthier in general (would be difficult to get too specific here) restart devotionals - I have my eye on a new devo book & I really wanna get back in the swing of quiet time everyday I start tomorrow! Wish me luck!!!1
