We’re also going to need a MikroElektronika Fan Click board featuring Microchip’s EMC2301 controller for powering and regulating the operation of 5V four-wire fans, and a small BLDC fan. We’ll be using Microchip’s integrated development environment MPLAB® X IDE along with MPLAB® XC Compiler and MPLAB® Code Configurator; all of which are readily available on the Microchip website . The small demo that we’ll be doing today is to read the tachometer of the fan and turn on a warning light if the fan stops.
